Broken down in Gettysburg

Being broken down isn't always a bad thing. While brokedown in Gettysburg, PA, half the girls rented a car and took off to New York City and the other half enjoyed the sites of historical Gettysburg. Lisa and I took a sunset tour of the Gettysburg National Cemetary. Later that night Troy (our bus driver) joined us for a late-night candlelight ghost tour. Apparently Gettysburg is full of spirits, but, conveniently, there were no sightings during this particular tour. (Personally, I think it's a bunch of hooey.)

Monday morning, while waiting to hear from the Ford Dealership on the status of our bus, Lisa and I got a personal tour of the Utz Snack Factory in Hanover, PA. Those of you in the Northeast should be very familiar with this snack brand. They make just about every flavor potato chip, pretzels, popcorn, cheese curls and about 200 more products I forgot to mention. Unfortunately, they don't distribute to Nashville so we had to take enough samples to last us awhile! And did we ever sample!! There's nothing like tasting a hot potato chip fresh off the assembly line. Lucky for us we can order online anytime we get a craving for Utz at www.utzsnacks.com

Thank you to Larry and Lori Racey, Fritz Livelsberger and Gary Laabs for the special tour.

Flag flown in Iraq in Mustang's honor

Joe Farkas sent Mustang Sally an email with a very unique request. In Joe's own words:

"I am an active duty (Army) Soldier and have been for the last 20 years. I am stationed in Alexandria, VA and recently returned from Iraq (for the second time). While I was over there another soldier turned us onto the "Mustang Sally" CD. We all loved it and listen to it constantly. We decided to fly a U.S. flag for the band over our camp in Iraq in hopes that when we returned we would be able to meet & present it to the band. Myself & 4 of my Army buddies will be riding our Harleys to "Gettysburg Bike Week" and would like to present the band with the flag & certificate."

Before our Gettysburg show we were able to meet with them. We were so honored when they presented us with the plaque and the actual flag that was flown. Then we rode to the stage in style--from the hotel to the venue we each hopped on the back of one of their Harleys and were dropped off at the stage. Too cool! Thank you to Joe, Rich, Todd, Tracy, John, Mike & his wife Eula for making our Gettysburg bike weekend so memorable.
