Wheels on the bus

Tobi posted a great entry that mentioned our new bus, and I got to thinking that it might be nice to gush about it in more detail.

It’s big. (36’ long.) It’s beautiful. It’s new-new, and the inside was designed to our specs to include more bunks, (so the driver or a guest can have one,) more storage space, (we’re girls! We bring lots of stuff.) a bigger fridge. And, (ok, call me a nerd for having this be my favorite feature) it has a generator for running the AC and power when the bus is turned off, with a separate gas tank!!! Whoo-hooo!!!!!

(This is me doing my best Price is Right girl impression!)

Look! Bunks!

Ta-da!

Octoberfest...South Carolina

Everyone knows how much we enjoy playing music and there are times where some great memories are made....This was one of them. We were playing an outdoor festival in Sumter, South Carolina and earlier in the day while I was walking around to search of a corn dog, I ran into a little girl named Jade. She had a Mustang Sally T-shirt on, her face was painted with Mustang Sally on it, and she was carrying a pink guitar. I took a picture with her and her mom was sweet enough to develop the picture, have it framed and dated, and found me later and gave it to me. So during our show I saw her out there playing guitar to our music and I thought I have to get her up to play with us. But that wasn't enough...Those of you who know us know what our dancing looks like. Up front was another little girl who was dancing to every song we played. Her name was Taleeya so I got her up to dance while Jade played guitar to Mustang Sally.

These girls rocked the house. They were absolutely adorable and I have never seen anything so cute on our stage. There were so many kids at this show and it was great to see them having fun with us. So I just thought I'm going to go down and hang out with them. What a memorable experience we had. I truly hope we get to come back and play this festival again. Thanks so much for a great night. Tobi

K-95 and Josh Turner

A huge thanks to K-95 Country in Richmond, Virginia and Lori Kelly. It is great to have support from radio stations and I want Lori and K-95 to know we appreciate them wanting us to come and play dates sponsored by their station. We always have a great time. The Virginia State Fair with Josh Turner was just another one. What a fantastic crowd and we loved running all over that huge stage. Thanks to security for chasing me through the crowd, and thanks to the crowd for such a warm reception.

And of course the handsome Josh Turner....What a voice. It was great playing with those guys and girl again. I hope we do it again soon. We can't wait to get back to Virginia.......Tobi

Our first wedding!!!!!!!

This was a first for Mustang Sally.....we played our first wedding. So let me start by saying congratulations to Dawn and Jason. A wedding is something we are not used to playing. Any of you who have seen us before know we can get a little crazy, but I guess that is why they hired us! Dawn and Jason had seen us in concert several times and it was an honor when they asked us to be there when they chose to begin their lives together.

Knowing we can be a little wild when it comes to our shows, we decided to kind of lay back and be a little more conservative with all the wedding guests. But it didn't take long until Jason (the Groom) and his father approached me and said, "Go for it! Mess with these folks! Don't hold back! Pick on everyone!" So we did and we had a blast. Even the bride and groom stayed until the end of the night. It was a great reception and we couldn't have asked for a better ending. For the last song of the night, the father of the groom and the father of the bride came together and sang "Family Tradition." It was great seeing two families come together like these folks did. We had a great time. Thanks again Dawn and Jason for letting us share this night with you.........Tobi

Before the photo shoot

Well since Brenda showed the pictures of everyone after the shoot, I felt like it was my duty to show the before pictures. This is Rachel with Shea and Bill getting her hair done. This is Lisa getting her make-up done by Ashley.

This is Sarah relaxing under the dryer with a magazine. What is she reading?? Time Magazine. Everyone else reads The Enquirer and Sarah reads Time.
And then there is me...With an aluminum foil mohawk. Needless to say we thought it didn't look right for the pictures...so we changed my look entirely. Thank the good Lord for great stylists and make-up artists........Tobi

Our recent photo shoot

We recently had a photo shoot and I want to say thank you to all the people who helped make it possible. We hired a professional stylist, Ashley Reed, who took us shopping and helped us put together our fabulous outfits. We would also like to thank Aimee the owner of one of the premiere boutiques in town FLAVOUR for additional clothing and styling. We love your store! The team at The Edge did our hair and make up the day of the shoot. Thank you, Bill, for the gorgeous color and style you gave all of us. If you are unfamiliar with The Edge, it is one of the premier salons in Nashville. It was voted "Best of Nashville" by Nashville Scene readers for several years including Best Salon, Best Spa and Best Hair Stylist. Tobi and Lisa have been going to The Edge for the past few years and now we are all believers in the quality of work they do. Look them up at www.theedgesalon.com and tell them Mustang Sally sent you!

Also, thank you to our very talented photographer, Erick Anderson. He made us all feel natural and comfortable and we had such a fun day. We can't wait for you all to see the finished photos! They will be revealed very soon on our website.

Thank you all!!
