Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween......Just to let you know...Yes we are going trick or treating so look out Nashville. After my birthday dinner, Eddie took the ice cream cake and went home, but we went to the haunted woods in Hendersonville.....This is a picture before we went in.....

All I can say is...Lisa laughed the whole way through, I held on to her jacket.....Rachel held on to my jacket...and Amanda kept turning her phone on for light in the dark................I personally was a little scared..but just a little, it was fun.....

Tobi

I love these girls.......

Well I have to say I am the luckiest singer in the world....I am blessed to get to work with the greatest bunch of girls I have ever known. For those of you who emailed me and wished me a happy birthday....thank you....and to the girls in the band, thank you....This was one of the best birthdays I have ever had...The gifts were great but being with you all....was the best gift.
So what did we do....well we had dinner at a quaint little italian restaurant...and I got fantastic gifts (thanks again)...then we had the greatest birthday cake ever...way to go Amanda!!!

I got some great bath items....as you can see I am wearing my bath cap with Sarah.....
And...then I got an awesome video camera and all the goodies that go with it....so hopefully in the future we will have a video of what really goes on out there on the road......It should be entertaining.....Look out you'll never know when I'm taping....Thanks to you all for a birthday I will never forget....But most of all thanks for being a great bunch of friends...I love all of you and I can't wait to see how this year turns out.

Tobi

Down Time....

Well when we are on the road, sometimes we run out of things to read, movies to watch, or just things to entertain ourselves. So one evening after a show our curiosity made us ask ourselves......How many mustang sally girls can fit into the bathroom on the bus....

ALL OF US!!!!!!!

Gulf Shores Festival

Well....the search is over.....we have found the mustang sally dancers in Gulf Shores, AL....the group of ladies from Minnesota and Indiana have got our dance down...Thanks for being such great dancers...
Our room with a view....

The crowds we have had this summer have been a pleasure to play for..
and the food in gulf shores is awesome......I just want to tell you all to go and check out
Mikee's...a place for seafood

Bike Week in Myrtle Beach

Well, the ocean is awesome and from it comes some great seafood, but not everyone is meant to eat seafood.....for example...Sarah had never had oysters before, but if you know me I kept on and on until she would finally try one. So by the look on her face..you can be the judge...did she or didn't she like oysters?

This was the ocean right outside of our great rooms....and this is a picture of Brenda and Sarah
on stage at the best place for bike week...HB Spokes............Thanks again Larry and LaShae we as always have a great time.

Tobi

Congrats....to Fran and Kenny!

Well normally we are an all girl band...but Lisa's sister Fran married Kenny on this weekend so Lisa hired the fabulous Mark Beckett to play with us. We missed Lisa, but it was fun having a guy on the road with us...Mark...I can only imagine what it was like for you on the road with six women, but you did a great job and thanks for helping us out......and from all the girls who couldn't be at the wedding........Congratulations Kenny and Fran!

Tobi

Breaking Down......It can be fun.

When you are on the road as much as we are.....your bus is gonna break down. Normally it isn't very fun....but in this particular case...we had a good experience. Where we broke down the lady inside had rescued some very tame baby deer. So we got to hold them and it was pretty neat...cause you rarely get close to deer and in this case.....it was a neat experience.....
Now just ingore the fact we are in our bus clothes....and check out the deer..... Tobi

Ocean City, MD...What a beautiful place

Ocean City.....This is a great place...we played at the Sunfest then we walked down the boardwalk
and there are great shops.....and some fantastic sand art............

We have our very own sand artist...rachel.....
she of course did the mustang sally art.....

this is Lynne, Lisa, Rachel and myself on the boardwalk......loved it.......

And the great folks of Ocean City.....This was truly a great group of people...hope to see you all next year...........

Summer

The summer is over...
That means:
1) My Brazilian body will be freezing all the time
2) Sadly, the festival & fair season is over

What I love about playing these gigs is that you get in touch with so many different people with so many different backgrounds and ethnic origins, that it really makes me believe that music breaks all possible barriers.
This last summer we opened for many big acts, played on stages big and small and kept really busy.
These are pictures of some of our shows and adventures around the country.
kisses for all,
Amanda

Put-In-Bay

You know the song.....I wanna rock and roll all night and party everyday.....That's put-in-bay
This is a great island.....You can't do anything but have fun....
We took some pictures and we want to share them. This is the wonderful, fun crowd from the Beer Barrel Saloon. I can't tell you how much fun we have playing this venue. The people who work there and the people who vacation there are awesome......Thanks so much for being so good to us.

Party......Everyday...This is the pool right outside my room...Tell me that doesn't look like fun

These are just some live pics

From the stage......

Lisa....on drums

and Rachel on piano....

Lynne on that blues guitar...................................................

And the best part of my trip...My mom and Aunt came and helped us out with merchandise, and I got to spend some time with my family..... Can't wait until next year..................See you in put-in-bay......(pooter,pooter)

Ground Zero

All I can say about our last stop in New York City is our thoughts and prayers are with all of those families who lost a loved one on 9/11..
I truly didn't grasp the devastation until I saw it with my own eyes...as I walked around outside the gate....There were timelines and pictures of before, during and after the attack. I almost couldn't believe that something like this could happen.
But when I saw this written on the gate....it became very real and very emotional.

Amy we miss you your brother troy

I felt honored to stand with heroes.......
New York City's finest................

Tobi

New York, New York

well....I have to say I think we saw the city at least three or four times....because Lenny drove us wherever we wanted to go....And he dropped girls off to meet their friends....so I have to say he was a very gracious host...

Here are just a few pictures of our tour....

We actually drove through the tunnel to New Jersey.....And if I were a better photographer you would see.....New York City behind us......

We had a blast............

Tobi
Okay.........I am just learning how to post pictures and blog so I have a lot of catching up to do.

This goes way back....to our trip in New York City...
First let me say that Amanda's friend Lenny was an absolute pleasure to meet.....
I know he was thinking to himself..(what have I gotten into)...when seven women rolled up to his house..But let me tell you he not only cooked a great dinner for us, but he also gave us an incredible tour of New York.....

That's Lenny....with with me and Lisa...we are at Chinatown's famous Wo-Hop restaurant.....Awesome food.

Sony Recording Studio: Day Two

Today we completed what's known as "basic tracking". Those of you who don't know what that means (Tobi, ha ha!) it's the drums, bass and rhythm guitars. All other instruments and voices are "overdubbed" (fiddle, lead guitar, organ). The biggest chunk of work is done and we can't wait to let you hear the finished product.
We are so excited about the originals we've recorded today and yesterday. So for those of you who've been asking about our originals--they're on their way!!! Here are some pictures from today...

That was Brenda typing above and this is Tobi typing now and I just have to say that my respect for each and every girl in this band is at a new level because they are kicking ass!!!!!
A special thank you to our engineers at Sony Tree for making us feel right at home: Reid Scelza, Paul Hart and Nathan Yarborough.

This project wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for our talented producers Barry Beckett and Mark Beckett.
