MARDI GRAS!!!!!!

Okay....if I have yet to explain the Mobile Mardi Gras Ball let me do that. First of all, they throw a huge party....where your local basketball or hockey team may play, this is where they throw a party. It is an all-day event because they have groups that dress in full mardi gras gear....sequins, masks, even the shoes are dyed metallic gold or whatever colors they are wearing to match their outfits. They have marching bands, floats, beads, coins...everything you need for Mardi Gras. After the parade, they have a ceremony where all the groups are introduced with the finale being the king and queen of the Ball. I have to tell you the guys are in tuxedos and the ladies are in full length gowns. It's an honor to be a part of it. You think that would be enough but then the music begins and then we dance all night. So if you want to celebrate Mardi Gras like this check it out and join one of the many organizations
....It will be worth it.......

This is a picture of the crowd and then one of the gentlemen gave us his head gear and Brenda and I wore it for part of the show....Thanks again for the Mardi Gras experience....Tobi

MARDI GRAS!!!!!!!!!!!

If I have said it once I will say it a thousand times more....We are the luckiest band in the world. Many of you know we stay busy and I wouldn't want it any other way.....but a couple of weeks ago we had a day full of shows....Lucky us we started off the night at the Temple in Mobile, Alabama and played a show with one of the greatest rock bands in history.....38 Special. They were awesome. Then began the hustle and bustle to load up our gear and head over to the Civic Center for a Mardi Gras Ball. I don't know if you knew this but Mobile is the birthplace of Mardi Gras and they know how to throw a party. They dress to the nines and have a parade then live music. Now as I said we are lucky because after the .38 Special show we played with a great country band....RICOCHET!!! They are a great group of guys and they even let us use some of their gear because of the earlier show we played so thanks guys! You would think that would be enough but it doesn't stop there. On the stage next to us....Morris Day And The Time!!!!!! YES!!!! Jungle Love....The Bird... we heard them all and they put on one heck of a show. So in one night we played with Rock Legends....Country Greats and R'N'B moguls.....I LOVE MY JOB!!!!

Chattanooga's Electric Cowboy

It's always nice when our booking agents can come out to a show. We're on the road so much (and they're in the office so much booking dates for us!!) that we rarely get to hang out with them at a show. Recently we played in Chattanooga at Electric Cowboy and our agents came out and showed their support. We love you guys!! Thank you for keeping us on the road 240 days a year!

A Letter to the Mardi Gras Fairy

Dear Mardi Gras Fairy,

I would really like a few things for Mardi Gras this year, as I have been a very good fiddle player and tried not to poke drunk people with my bow, even if they really deserved it.

#1, I would like an invisible bubble shield to deflect beads, coins, garters, and panties that might come flying in my direction and hit me in the head like they did last night. (At least it was my head and not my fiddle. Be grateful for small favors, I suppose.)

#2, I would like a big sign that states, "The fiddle player cannot accept more beads once both her arms and all of her belt loops are at capacity. No, she cannot put them around her neck as the beads will damage her fiddle. If her arms are COMPLETELY COVERED in beads, they are indeed at capacity! Also, her husband does not appreciate you putting a garter on her leg and trying to cop a feel. Thank you."

#3, I would like a very large, well muscled man named Skippy to hold said sign and enforce it when needed.

That should about do it for this year.

Thanks,
Sarah
