Shreveport Louisiana.... Sam's Town

I recently wrote about our trip to the casino where in the bathroom our pictures were above every urinal. What I didn't tell you was that the show was great and we also shot a live video that we can't wait to get back and watch. The stage was great. It actually was the same stage that we saw Trisha Yearwood perform on a little over a year ago. We had some pretty big shoes to fill..... We just did our Mustang Sally thing.
I want to thank the Casino for everything they did to help us with our video shoot and accommodating our label and fans with a free show. Also I want to give a big thanks to The Edge Hair Salon. The owner Bill Vandiver sent his assistant Holly Hodges with us to do our hair and make-up and she did a great job. Thanks Holly. This is a picture put together by Gerald Grace, Sam's Town's graphic designer, and I love it. I think it gives you a pretty good idea of how the night was set.
Thanks again to everyone who helped this night go off without a hitch......Tobi

West Helena Arkansas Hog Rally

We have played this bike rally a few times and we couldn't make it last year so it was great to be back this year. We had a blast. This is actually the location where "The Story of the Fly" took place. After all the charades on the bus we hit the stage and rocked out with all the bikers. Here are some shots from the show.

Sarah........... Playing the fiddle........In those heels........

Me and Brenda..... Must be comtemplating our next move...while singing......

DUH!!!!! I don't know!!!!!

This is a cool shot of the whole band...... Well, Lisa is still on the drums...
Afterwards....we just talked to everyone and hung out.... Thanks again for having us... Tobi

I'm a Real Woman

Well anyone who has been following this band knows our song "Real Woman". We were so excited that we finally got some new shirts and we kind of battled over who got the first one...so needless to say we all tried to wear it.
I actually decided to wear the shirt for our show because, heck, we are Real Women.

As the show went on, I noticed something. People were buying the shirts and they were wearing them too...... CHECK THIS OUT>>>>>>>

That's right...... Anyone can be a Real Woman. You just have to proud of who you are. This was awesome.....
We both wore the shirts proudly and I can't wait until more people have one......Tobi

Guitars and Cadillacs in Mississippi

Hey Everybody,
You know how I just like to post some pictures from different shows.....

Here are some shots of us a great club down in Mississippi. Great stage, Great room...... And the crowd is great too.....

Here's a shot of Rachel rocking out on the saxophone.....

I'm obviously on a mission to get something done........ Speaking of getting something done....

Can somebody please tell me...... What in the hell are we doing? If you can answer this question......... I'd really like to know.

I can't wait to get back south to this club. And I guess you could say I can't wait to see what pictures the next show brings...... Wow... Tobi

Barry Beckett Rest in Peace

Well-known producer and our friend Barry Beckett (1943-2009) passed away peacefully at his home last night, June 10, surrounded by family.

Beckett was born February 4, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama. He spent many years as part of the house band at acclaimed Fame studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama before moving to Nashville and becoming an integral part of the music industry as a producer.

While at Fame, he played keys on hits including “I’m Your Puppet” (James and Bobby Purify), and “When A Man Loves A Woman” (Percy Sledge), as well as classics by Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Bob Dylan, Bob Segar and Paul Simon.

Beckett moved to Nashville to head Warner Bros.’s A&R department, during which time he co-produced Hank Williams Jr. alongside Jim Ed Norman. After leaving WB, he went on to helm production for Alabama, Asleep At The Wheel, Kenny Chesney, Jason & The Scorchers, Delbert McClinton, Neal McCoy, KT Oslin, Lee Roy Parnell, Eddy Raven, and others.

Mustang Sally was fortunate enough to work with Barry on a few projects. He taught us all so much about music and will continually inspire us to be better musicians.
The photos above were taken with Barry a few years back at one of our recording sessions. Barry, we will miss you.
Love,
Mustang Sally
