P.S.

I am having (have had) a really wonderful birthday! The girls managed to feed all my favorite addictions: books, coffee, music, and the wackiest socks EVER!! Watch out world...

Violin vrs. Fiddle

I know Tobi promised that I’d tell the story of the other violin from Hawkinsville, and I’m a little behind. My most sincere apologies.

Prior to our performance, I spent some time chatting about violins and violin makers with a lovely man named Barry. He asked me to try out a fiddle that a friend of his had made, and I loved it. Great tone, very easy to play, and a fantastic “fiddle” sound, as opposed to my current violin which sounds like a classical violin. I played a few tunes, and reluctantly gave it back to him.

Right as we were about to start “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, Tobi announced that someone wanted to make a presentation. Barry came out with his violin, and said that he wanted me to have it. To say that I was speechless would be an understatement. I’ve never been so flabberghasted in all my life! (Barry’s violin maker friend, Michael Daugherty, said that he would make a new violin for Barry, so Barry won’t be without.)

My deepest thanks to both of them for an incredible gift; I look forward to playing on it for years to come.

Rough way to start the weekend...........

You know my mom is always telling me to be careful on the road and now I know why. I wasn't driving, but we were all asleep in our bunks when all of a sudden we hear this bang and then the bus starts shaking and we really have no clue what is happening until the bus stops and Lisa says we have been hit by a truck. I won't lie it scared the heck out of me. But thank God everyone involved was okay and other than being sore no one was seriously injured. All I want to say is when it is raining be careful cause puddles on the road are dangerous.

Thanks to the highway patrol and to the tire repair guys who got us safely back on the road so we could still make our show. (tobi)

Riverfest........Mississippi (Rain or Shine)

It rained on and off all day long but when we finally took the stage rain or shine the riverfest crowd showed up anyways......When I took this picture from the stage I realized how lucky we are to play music for a living. Thanks for coming out in the rain and being a rowdy crowd. You sure made us forget everything that had happened that day.

Okay....Yes we are American Idol fans and guess who we played with this year......Bo Bice. Oh yes we were some lucky ladies...

Okay we like to rock out too....I have to say his band and his road manager were so nice to us and hopefully we will see you all back in Nashville......

So what do you do after you have had a bus accident......Waited for the rain to stop so you could play your concert and then find out the casino is giving away $30 to play with.........Well you go to your room and then play games with their money....Tobi

Happy Birthday..........Ole!!!!!!!!!

Well even though we are on the road 245 days a year, we can't forget to still have birthday parties. Sarah (fiddle) had her birthday this year in Arkansas. And thanks to Brenda this year it was a Sponge Bob Square Pants theme. Happy Birthday Sarah.....We Love You!!! Tobi

Wild Hog Music Fest.......Harley Rally

Hello....Arkansas!!!!! We played this music fest last year and we are so glad they asked us back this year. Plus, sharing a stage with Blood, Sweat, and Tears isn't too shabby either. Also the Alabama Blues Brothers. It was a hot, beautiful day and we had a great time. I have to say thanks to everyone who came to hear us and stayed until we shut the festival down.

This was a huge stage with a great crew on hand. I want to say we really appreciated all the help.
After shuffling the Alabama Blues Brothers, Blood, Sweat and Tears and then finally us on and off the stage, it was the end of a long successful day. This is just a shot of some of the crew that worked all day to make this event possible. We had a great time again this year and thanks to Harley Davidson and the Music Fest for letting us be a part of this show. And I can't forget the ladies who took great care of us. I hope we see you again soon.

The Roost.......

Hey, It's me again. I recieved some pictures from Craig...at Custom Design Photography out of New York. From Saturday Night when we played The Roost. We had a great time and I thought it was so nice to see all the dances and dancers. The crowd was a Hoot!!! You did every dance we tried to do on stage and I honestly believe a couple of you danced all the way home. I am putting some live shots from our night and thanks Craig for the pictures.
That's Rachel singing and playing the keys.I'm playing guitar(tobi). Sarah is on the fiddle. Also, I have to say it was a pleasure sharing the stage with Flint Creek they are a great bunch of guys. Thanks for hanging out and letting us get to know you...I can't wait until we go back to The Roost we will see you all soon and thanks for making our night another one to remember.......Tobi

MikeNewmanPhotos.com

I just wanted to thank Mike Newman for the great pictures in the Georgia......Thanks section of our blog. Also thanks for the dvd. That was so nice of you to rush so we could have a copy of everything before we left town. You are a great photographer and we thank you for the memories. To see all the pictures from Friday night's performance in Hawkinsville, please visit his website at...... MikeNewmanPhotos.com

Georgia.......Thanks

The show was going great but I think deep down everyone wants to be the fiddle player......
I thought maybe just maybe I could be Sarah for one song....So she has long hair so I put on the wig......Then I picked up her second fiddle (which she will tell you about) and the band started playing Charlie Daniels. I tried my best, but there was one problem...I can't play fiddle!!

But take a look at her socks... For those of us who can't play fiddle, we can still dress like her...
I wonder where she gets those things......

We really had a great time at the Old Opera House. I think the folks of Hawkinsville are just a great bunch of people. After our show we hung out, signed merchandise, and got a chance to meet almost each and every one of them.

Now we expect to see you all the next time we come back into town. Thanks for spending an evening with us and Hawkinsville was a great way to kick off our spring and summer tour............Thanks

Tobi Lee

Georgia.......Thanks

Wow.....This is going to be a great year. Not only do you get into Hawkinsville to play a show at the Old Opera House, but you get to hear your songs on the radio. We did a live radio remote with Tony and Anna from 96Q and they were a lot of fun to hang out with on the corner. We talked about everything from riding in the bus with seven ladies to American Idol. As if talking on the radio wasn't enough, a few minutes later we heard one of our new songs on the radio (I can't tell you how cool that is). Thanks 96Q! We appreciate the support. You'd think that would be the best part of the day.....but it only got better. This is the awesome crowd we had the pleasure to play for on Friday night and you can't see them, but the folks in the balcony were a blast too. Thanks for letting me come up there and hang out with ya.(Tobi)
